Spring-Summer 2017
Maka had flirty punks on the brain. Velvet mock necks in Pepto pink and black looked cool, as did a watercolor print top with a matching car-wash skirt. Also, take note of Dalood’s denim: Terrific jeans were decorated with a massive sequined dragon running down the leg. LIANA SATENSTEIN (Vogue.com)
Spring Summer 2017
Svaneti-born (Georgia) creative director of Dalood, Maka Kvitsiani, returns to her motherland every summer. As a child, her rural surroundings, wondering Svaneti's mysterious and ancient places, climbing the wild, uninhabited mountains developed into a what was to become a life-long love of nature.
Therefore, Mother Earth has always been a major source of inspiration and her Svanetian home has always been a place to go back to whenever she needs to boost her imagination. Maka, always brings back something from those long walks she likes to take early in the mornings and those locations she knows intimately well. Whether it's growing and harvesting vegetables or taking long walks to collect acidulous water and berry picking, it's her connection to the nature she finds the most inspiring.
" I am never looking for anything specific, it could be the moss on rocks or you might pick up a leaf beside the path and discover all the colors and shapes that will not leave you sight until you turn them into new ideas."
